Hamilton Festival Theatre Company (HFTco) produces activities throughout the year including the flagship Hamilton Fringe Festival, the community-embedded winter festival Frost Bites, the ALERT education initiative (Artistic Leadership and Entrepreneurial Training Program), and Hamilton’s theatre awards The Gilded Hammers.

We’re looking for Venue Captains for paid positions beginning July 17! Reporting to the FOH Manager(s) and the Box Office Management team, these individuals will supervise and coordinate all Front-of-House and Box Office procedures onsite at one or more of our 2024 Hamilton Fringe Festival venues.

FRINGE ON THE STREETS TOUR GUIDE

Fringe On The Streets is a FREE new performance event, piloted in support with the City of Hamilton, Downtown BIA, and Keeping Six as part of the 20th Hamilton Fringe Festival happening on July 17-28th, 2024. It is a reimagined, immersive walking tour of downtown Hamilton starting at Ferguson Station, featuring ghost stories at Ferguson Station, a drag show in Gore Park, street preachers with a twist, a museum of stories in Jackson Square, wild travelling bands along York, and a larger-than-life grand finale on James St North.
We are looking for two individuals to act as ‘Tour Guides’ to lead the procession for four to nine showings of the 90-minute Fringe On The Streets walking tours. Your role would be to deliver and host dynamic, theatrical, engaging tours, following a generic script and leading the audience members from the tours’ start to finish.
The ideal candidate will have a performance/theatre background, and/or is comfortable delivering a clear and energetic presentation to audiences.
An honorarium of $250 will be provided.
There will be a few hours of rehearsal between July 12 – 18. Performances will depart Ferguson Station (King & Ferguson) at the following times:
