The Downcycle | Show 3 of 3
A clumsy and charismatic detective investigates the death of an aspiring theatre kid, Mahi. In Mahi’s room, the detective leads the audience through an archive of Hamilton, from the slow and grueling HSR bus to Hamilton-based band Superstar Crush! However, the room seems unusual, as if something, or someone, is haunting the place. You, too, must lend a hand in this interactive show to decode all the clues and uncover what Hamilton meant to an artsy teen growing up on the mountain. The play invites you to traverse Mahi’s memories and unfinished dreams to speculate how home is created.
Roya Motazedian, Rijaa Khan and Ryma are creatives from the Triple Futures Collective. The Triple Futures Collective (or, the Futures Futures Futures Collective/Futures³) is a BIPOC, queer collective formed in Hamilton by friends with aligned anti-colonial, community-oriented values. We are committed to nurturing our local community through creative and/or scholarly projects that are fun, accessible, and transgress colonial notions of gathering.
