THE LAND ON WHICH WE GATHER

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is situated upon the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Wyandot, the Haudenosaunee, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

The territory is mutually covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Anishnaabe, and other allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Today, this is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work in the community, on their territory.

Hamilton Festival Theatre Company has received knowledge over the years through a process of learning and relationship-building with artists, with community members, and with local Elders and Knowledge-keepers. As an organization, we are committed to continuing and deepening these relationships.

HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES

HFTco prioritizes the health, safety, and accessibility of our artists, audiences, staff, volunteers, and community partners. As such, our festival and event plans continue to take all public health guidelines and government guidance into consideration. All decisions are informed by municipal, provincial, and federal guidelines as well as ongoing consultation with the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals (CAFF).
