Box Office F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)
Is my show in an accessible venue? How can I reserve a seat for a support person or make sure my service animal will have enough space?
Accessibility details for Frost Bites venues are available here.

How do i join the "Life in Transit(ion)" HSR Guided Tour? Is it accessible?
Start by purchasing a single ticket or booking a passholder ticket to “Life in Transit(ion)”, to gain access to the content of the show. (This is a paid performance, whether it’s accessed on-demand or with the HSR Guided Tour).
Audience members must RESERVE a spot for the “Life in Transit(ion)” HSR Guided Tour by contacting the Box Office. Audience members who participate in the guided tour will be required to walk/travel between venues and bus stops within downtown Hamilton. Tour groups will meet at the designated Box Office location to check in, travel as a group to the bus stop, board the HSR and listen to the audio show, then exit at the bus stop at the next venue. Audience members must be prepared to pay standard HSR fares upon boarding the bus to participate in the tour. The ticket price has been adjusted to accommodate for the additional HSR fare. Audience members must download the audio file in advance of the tour and be prepared with a listening device (e.g. cell phone) and earphones.
From the HSR: All buses in Hamilton have Accessible Low Floors (ramps) and the International Symbol for Accessibility appears on the front and side of the bus. Accessible Low Floor buses have ramps that provide level entry and exit with no steps. These floors make it easier for everyone, especially for people in wheelchairs, scooters and walkers to get on and off the bus.
HSR buses can accommodate wheelchairs and scooters within the standard size of 30” wide by 48” in length which complies with the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

I bought a pass, what do I do next?
HFTco passes have two steps: (1) buying; (2) booking. If you bought a pass, don’t forget to book your tickets! When you are logged in to your account (the same account/email address you used when you bought your pass), our ticket system will recognize you as a passholder and will automatically change Full Price tickets to free passholder tickets. The ticketing system will track your pass uses for you, and will stop discounting tickets when you have used all your tickets. All you need to do is add a Full Price ticket to your basket! You can also use your pass for a walk-up ticket at the door, as long the show is not sold out. Please give the email address and full name you bought your pass under, and the Box Office staff at the venue can book your ticket. Booking your tickets in advance is the only way to guarantee your seat!
Read more about the passes available here. Passes are non-transferable (the person who bought the pass must be one of the guests).
If your tickets are not being discounted or there appears to be an error in the check out process, please email boxoffice@hftco.ca or call 289-698-2234 and a Box Office representative will look into the issue.
I bought my tickets online and received my confirmation email. What now?
Digital/online experiences: you will receive a Purchase Reminder Email with your virtual show’s access details on the first day of the festival. This information should not be shared or distributed.
In-person shows: you will receive a Purchase Reminder Email the day before your event. Your Order Confirmation or Purchase Reminder Email act as your ticket and contain the Venue, Show Date, and Show Time. Please check in with the Box Office at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
If you require wheelchair-accessible seating, priority seating for individuals who are d/Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, use a mobility device or service animal, or other specific seating requests, please contact the Box Office to make arrangements. Learn more about Accessibility at hftco.ca/accessibility, including detailed venue information.
I bought my tickets online and my credit card was charged, but I did not get a confirmation email. What now?

I’m running late for my in-person show, help!
All shows start ON TIME. Some performances may be able to seat latecomers within the first 15 minutes, but it is not guaranteed – it depends on the venue, the seating location, and whether a company has decided to allow late seating or not. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to avoid disappointment!
Do I need to book a ticket for FREE events or workshops?
Lots of Frost Bites programming is FREE! You can come on down to the venue and we’ll direct you to the event or workshop you’re interested in attending. Some events or workshops might have limited capacity. If your activity is not available when you arrive, we’ll do our best to suggest an alternative activity or give you a rough time estimate of when space will be available again.
If you visit the Festival Listings page, you might want to book a FREE ticket if you’d like an email reminder. Booking a FREE ticket also gives you the chance to tell us about any accessibility requirements you may have when you check out.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your event so our ushers can ensure you have the best possible experience.
I registered to attend a free workshop or an event and now I can't go. Should I cancel my registration?
We’ll miss you, but don’t worry! Free events don’t require a cancellation.
What is a promenade show? I’m not sure what a “walking tour” is.
Audience members will be walking and traveling to different venues or spaces throughout the show experience, or standing/moving within a single performance space during the show.
