A Message from the Artists about their Affinity Performances

Black Out Night is an invitation for Black audience members to take up space, celebrate the Afro-Caribbean arts and culture of Wheel and Turn, and connection with the theatremaking process. There will be a Q&A and special sharing at a nearby location after the performance.

From HFTco: The company producing this Hamilton Fringe show has decided to offer an Affinity Performance. Borrowed from the success of Jeremy O. Harris's Black Out Night for his play “Slave Play, ” theatre organizations across North America have started offering Affinity Performances for equity-seeking, marginalized, and underrepresented communities with whom the artist/company identifies and the content of the performance explores. While the intention is to encourage audience members who have not traditionally been welcomed into theatre spaces, anyone is allowed to purchase tickets to any performance. Audience members attending an Affinity Performance, however, should be comfortable with the Artists’ Message and supportive of the invitation to the community that is being recognized, whether they are a member of that community or not.

Entry to this show requires a Fringe Benefits Button. ALL Fringe patrons ages 12+ (including passholders) must make a one-time $5 purchase of a Fringe Benefits Button to access any ticketed indoor event.
