Storytelling Krick!? (English)

Centre Francophone Hamilton

February 28, 2026

The charming Djennie Laguerre (AKA Madame Bonheur) is a fantastic Haitian storyteller who will transport her audience into the magical and wonderful world of Afro-Caribbean storytelling. The audience is engaged to participate in the story by singing and dancing with her. It's a thrill to see adults and youth, together, clapping their hands to Haitian music beats and laughing out loud at her funny characters’ misadventures. (presented in English)

Djennie Laguerre: Actress, Author, and Storyteller is a graduate of the Stella Adler Acting Conservatory (New York) and the University of Ottawa (BAC in Art; Theatre and Literature). She has been acclaimed as the performer and author of Manman la mer at Théâtre la Catapulte and Rendez-vous Home/ Lakay *BTW
