The Approximators are “Hamilton’s live-band karaoke masters” (Hamilton City magazine), four musicians and an emcee whose only goal is to make you look and sound like a star.

What is live-band karaoke? It’s exactly like regular karaoke, except with a live band, which makes it a thousand times more fun. You pick a song from the band’s ever-growing list of more than 200, and when Amy the emcee calls your name, you come up to sing with the band. You can even bring up friends: we love when the stage gets crowded. Fan of Dolly Parton? Green Day? Chappell Roan? Fleetwood Mac? Weezer? ABBA? AC/DC? Chances are we have your karaoke go-to on our list.

Approximators shows are about more than just music, they are a community event. People have celebrated birthdays, engagements, and anniversaries onstage with the band—there has even been a surprise wedding proposal, right in the middle of a song! As Approximator guitarist (and onstage vocal coach) Tom says: “Everybody who sings with us goes offstage with a smile on their face.” And as regular attendee Eugenia says: “An Approximators show is medicine for the soul.”
