In 1994 New Brunswick, in the aftermath of a traumatic abortion, 17 year old Charlie grapples with a grim secret. Drawing strength and solace from the Riot Grrrl feminist movement— in which young women wrote zines about their lives, offered each other support, formed punk bands, and unapologetically screamed about being a girl under patriarchy— Charlie reckons with her trauma, and makes a decision that finally brings her secret to rest.
The artists team behind Charlie's Riot have come to the difficult decision to cancel their July 29 and 30th performance(s) with the Hamilton Fringe Festival
